Nice Home
The individual that lives in this house is a retired airline pilot. Notice all the toys: plane, boat, kodiak boats, etc.
We
saw several very nice houses along the river. We were told that bare
land along the river was worth about $100k/acre. Frame houses cost
about $130 per square foot. Log houses added another $50-70 per square
foot.
Near
the end of our trip we passed the Pump House restaurant where we had
eaten lunch. The restaurant got its name from the water pumps that were
used to blast the stone and gravel to loosen it for processing in the
gold mining process.
Back to the Hotel
Surprise!
There was a very nice shopping area associated with the Riverboat
Discovery. We shopped until they were ready to close the shops, picking
up a few more last-minute items.
Since Carol
showed us the Princess Hotel and pointed out that it is just up the
river a hundred yards from our place, we decided to eat there. We
shared a sandwich and cup of soup.
